Bourne are up to 12th in the UCL Division One after a 4-2 victory over Burton Park Wanderers on Saturday.

Bourne Town boss Rafa Mazzarella has admitted he would be satisfied if the season ended now after the Wakes reached the 40-point mark with their latest victory.

Josh Hales gave the home side the lead at Abbey Lawn after 14 minutes, but Jake Bailey levelled things for Wanderers six minutes before the break.

However Bourne regained the lead when Liam Piddington put through his own goal five minutes into the second half before Taiwo Odutolu’s goal on 55 minutes threatened to cause an upset.

But Aris Placis put the Wakes back in front a minute later and Harley Williams netted from the penalty sport on 64 minutes to see Bourne home to three points.

Mazzarella said: “It was a bit scary because we missed so many chances in the first 30 minutes and I was very disappointed because we should have been out of sight at half time, instead of 1-1.

“But we were happy in the end to get the three points and now the boys are starting to show that they can compete with the majority of sides in UCL Division One.

“If the season finished tomorrow, I’d be happy with where we are now.”

Bourne travel to Stuart & Lloyds Corby tomorrow night in the league, kick-off 7.45pm.

Bourne: Aaron Fagan, Lewis Hall, Dan Wilson, Andy Moss, Aaron Jesson, Kev Elger, Aris Placis, Harley Williams (Jones De Sousa), Scott Spearink, Josh Hales (Craig Rook), Tyler Sculthorpe (Joe Moore-Papworth).
