Uppingham Town are going through a tough spell at the moment in the PDFL Premier Division and it is showing no signs of coming to an end this weekend when they travel to unbeaten league leaders Moulton Harrox.
On Saturday Uppingham were condemned to their fifth straight loss in the league which has seen them drop back towards the trouble at the bottom of the league. They sit in 14th place in the 17 team league.
AFC Stanground beat the Rutland visitors 4-1 on Saturday - a disappointing result because they had started the day above the victors. However Uppingham made life tough for themselves when they lost the ball in their own half and Stanground took advantage to score. The hosts added a second with a shot from distance.
Uppingham came out with intent after the break but conceded a fine solo goal which saw the Stanground attacker run half the length of the field before scoring.
Despite that Town pushed forward and after Rhys Duggan left the woodwork rattling, Adam Binley pulled a goal back with a header from a James Howe wide delivery. Another long range effort wrapped it up for the hosts who scored through Kurtis Adams-Webb, Shane Cooke, Joshua Stagge and Joshua Rosser.
