The second semi-final of the Jaidka Cup tonight (Wedneday, 6pm) is a clash between the irresistible Twenty/20 force and the immovable object.

Hosts Nassington Knights put their perfect Twenty/20 record this summer of eight wins from eight matches on the line against Cambs Division One rivals Ramsey Raiders, a team that have lost just one of their four short-form games this season, and that was against a crack Granta side from the high-class East Anglian Premier Division.

Ramsey, the reigning champions and current Division One leaders, won comfortably at Nassington in a league match recently, but the home side have been outstanding in Twenty/20 cricket, numbering powerful teams Peterborough Town and Bourne among their victims.

Nassington have already reached the final of the Stamford Charity Cup and play a semi-final of the Stamford KO Shield against King’s Keys next Monday (June 22), Their key men will be prolific batsman/wicket-keeper Dan Robinson, hard-hitting Kiwi Ryan Duffy and swing bowler Dan Bandaranaike who returned astonishing figures of 7-10 from five overs in the Charity Cup semi-final win over Bourne earlier this week.

Fifteen year-old slow left-arm bowler Harrison Craig is another Nassington player to look out for.

Ramsey returned to the Jaidka Cup for the first time in several seasons this summer and have already despatched Cambs League rivals Wisbech Wildcats and March Crows.

They also have an array of talent, in particular Cambs Minor Counties all-rounder Michael Cafferkey and James Markland who has been in outstanding batting form.

Market Deeping are waiting for the winners in the final which will be played on Wednesday June 24 at Barnack.
