It’s win or bust for Stamford AFC in their battle against relegation from the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division on Saturday.

The Daniels could have been relegated last night (Tuesday) if results had gone against them, but Witton Albion’s 2-1 defeat at Ashton United has thrown the local club a lifeline.

Fickley Athletic also remain in danger of the drop following a 0-0 draw at Ramsbottom United last night.

Stamford must now beat Witton at the Zeeco Stadium to stay up and relegate their opponents.

At the other end of the table FC United of Manchester claimed the NPL title with a 1-0 win over Stourbridge. Greg Daniels sparked the celebrations with a goal in the 69th minute which sent the 3,588 fans in attendance wild.

Elsewhere, in the UCL Premier Division Deeping Rangers lost their penultimate game of the season 3-1 at Harrowby. Spencer Tinkler missed a penalty for Deeping, minutes before Matt Holland claimed a consolation goal.
