Bourne batsmen blasted 19 sixes on their way to a 229-run battering of Medbourne in Rutland Division One on Sunday.

Centurians Peter Morgan and Jordan Temple smacked six maximums apiece as did Tom Dixon who based a quickfire 71 at the end of Bourne’s 45-over innings of 398-7.

Morgan was finally dismissed for 134, while Temple finished unbeaten on 120. It was Temple’s first senior ton and a great day for Bourne was completed when under 15 player Ben Woodward finished the match off with a hat-trick.

Woodward returned figures of 4-40 as Medbourne replied with 169.

Town Saturday star Asim Butt plays for Barnack on Sundays and he cracked 92 in a 26-run win at Oundle. Jack Bolsover (5-26) bowled superbly for Oundle, but Mark Hodgson’s 72 wasn’t enough to get the home side over the line.

Bowling star of the day was Tom Norman of Nassington who claimed 8-41 in 12 overs in a 127-run win over Stamford. Stamford were shot out for just 67 chasing 194-8. Kiwi Ryan Duffy (62no) top scored for Nassington with Richard Field (4-59) bowling best for Stamford.
