Billingborough fit the bill as title contenders in South Lincs Border League

Billingborough picked up maximum points with a five-wicket win over newly-promoted Spalding 2nd at the start of the South Lincolnshire & Border Cricket League season on Saturday.

Spalding were all out for 153 after Simon Juckes (37) and Robert Noble (33) got them off to a solid start.

Shane George (4-23) and Paul Goodwin (3-44) starred with the ball for Billingborough who then reached their target.

Bourne 2nd got off to a good start despite being restricted to 159-9 with Robert Dunn top-scoring on 65 and Stuart Turner taking 6-37 for Lindum 2nd who were all out for 112.

Division One newcomers Lindum 3rd found the going tough against the experienced Market Deeping 2nd.

Lindum were all out for 73 – Joe Pearson taking four wickets – and Deeping easily overtook the total.
