CRICKET: Uppingham marching towards place at T20 county finals

Uppingham Town are flying in the Twenty20 game and on Monday night they beat Kibworth in the Leciestershire Regional finals.

Uppingham posted a score of 133-8 with Jamie Sharrock and Danny Dumford both making scores of 22, the joint top score on the night.

Jamie Dodsworth (18 not out) and Jamie Dumford (14) helped Town to a useful target for their bowlers to defend.

Uppingham were close to bowling out the visitors, finishing just one wicket short as Kibworth finished on 114-9, 19 runs short of the required target.

The wickets tumberd at regular intervals with Tom Roberts, 3-27, the best of the bowlers, Scott Green, took 2-20 and Alex Ashwin, Danny Dumford and Jamie Richardson, a wicket each.

Uppingham are now one game away from making the county finals day.
