OAKHAM’S mixed team enjoyed a good win against their old rivals.

Results: Roger Rowlands, Di Culshaw, Brenda Lang and Eddie Owen won 28-8; Jenny Owen, Michael Timms, Margaret Jeffries and Ivan Lang won 21-15; David Morgan, Marion Sims, Beryl Birch and Jenny Bateman drew 21-21.

OAKHAM narrowly lost an exciting match against Belgrave. The only winning skip was Chris Wallis.

Results: Mary Smith, Anne Preston-Bambridge, Richard Ward and Chris Wallis won 24-14; Lin Walters, Jack Pearce, Nigel Trigg and Ron Smurthwaite lost 16-18; Michael Timms, Tony Flower, Eddie Owen, and Denis Smith lost 16-21; Roger Rowland, Mike Hardy, Barrie Payne and Bob Swarbrick lost 14-19.
