A SUMMER fete and car boot sale at Ketton Cricket Club on Sunday helped raise £2,800 to provide additional sporting opportunities for youngsters.
More than 100 stalls were set out for the day, with crowds of people going along to buy a bargain and enjoy the sunshine.

Musical accompaniment was provided by Stamford Brass Band and further entertainment included a tombola, bouncy castle and vintage car display.

Ketton Cricket Club mascot Hector the dog provided much cheer among those in attendance.

Funds raised from the event will go towards an all-weather net for the cricket club to help young people practise bowling and batting.

Organiser Steve Rowell said between 2,000 and 3,000 people showed up for the day. He said: "We had even more people this year than last and we're really pleased with the money raised."
