Professional musicians visited Langham Primary School and St Nicholas Primary School in Cottesmore to teach the children about eco-friendly instruments.
It was part of the Music in the Pipeline project organised by the Collegiate Brass Ensemble and Anglian Water to use music to teach youngsters about conserving water.
The musicians' trumpets, horn, euphonium and tuba are made from old blue water pipes.
Anglian Water spokesman Dan Baker said: "Collegiate Brass Ensemble is a quintet of professional musicians who usually play more conventional brass instruments, but they jumped at the chance to get involved in this educational campaign.
"They play a specially commissioned piece called the H2-Overture which includes extracts from various well-known melodies with a watery theme."
The group also performed at Rutland Day.
