Snapshots of school life have been buried in North Luffenham for Rutlanders to unearth in years to come.
Class three pupils from St Mary and St John's Primary School have buried a time capsule as part of their history project to preserve a piece of life in 2008.

The capsule was buried near a tree under the watchful eye of local historian Janet Whittaker who has been helping the children learn about their village during the last 500 years. They have visited key buildings in the area and carried out re-enactments of old photos.

The time capsule includes schools photos, reports written by the children and newspaper cuttings which summarise life at the school.

Pupil Archie Roberts said: "I think it's cool to bury a time capsule because in the future everyone will know what life in 2008 was about."
