Staff and residents from RAF Cottesmore have enjoyed a visit from royalty.
Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra made a private visit to the base in her role as the Station's Honorary Air Commodore.

The Princess arrived in a HS125 aircraft, flown by the 32 (The Royal) Squadron from RAF Northolt, and was met by the Deputy Force Commander, Commander Adrian Orchard.

Princess Alexandra was presented with a posy from seven-year-old Tabetha Read whose father was detached to Kandahar in Afghanistan last week.

Adrian Orchard, Deputy Force Commander, said: "It is a very considerable honour for HRH to visit our personnel at Royal Air Force Cottesmore. The visit was warmly welcomed by all and we are privileged to enjoy a long and happy association with HRH Princess Alexandra."

Princess Alexandra met station personnel who have been away on operations and the welfare support team who provide a network of assistance back home.
