The funeral of Brian Davies was well attended last Tuesday. Brian had lived in the bungalow he built in Mill Grove for over 40 years. He was well known in the building trade and played whist for the village right up to a few days before he died. He w
as a keen balloonist, an interest he passed on to his son Gary. Latterly he had taken up the game of golf. Gary read a tribute to his father at the service and Alex, one of his daughters, read a poem. This was a distressing time for his wife, Barbara, and for daughter Lindsay who lost her husband some years ago. Old friends met up at Rutland Golf Club and admired the magnificent views overlooking Rutland Water that Brian had enjoyed from his golf buggy.
School activitiesAs tomorrow is the last day of the Spring term there is an end of term service at 2.30pm in St Andrew's Church for the children, their parents and friends.
