THESE youngsters will be cycling with more confidence after completing a road safety cycling test.
Year six pupils at St Mary and St John Primary School in North Luffenham spent four weeks learning the basic skills of cycling proficiency through a new Bikeability scheme.

The youngsters formed into two teams and were taken out on the roads of the village to learn about right and left hand turns, being seen in the dark, and protecting themselves against traffic.

Headteacher Sam Morton said: "The children have been absolutely outstanding in applying their new cycling proficiency skills when responsibly taking to the roads.

"We are thrilled that we have so many children who have completed levels one, two and three of their Bikeability programme."

Many children already bike to and from the school as they live in the village, and more of them will now be using their new skills.

Mr Morton added: "They enjoyed the challenge of doing the tests and going out on the roads in the village.

"They like being out as a team and doing something different."
