Shire Horse Society Open Day EMN-150709-112144001

The Shire Horse Society is hosting an open day this Sunday, inviting the general public to join the society in the celebrations of
the survival of the shire horse, which nearly died out in the last century.

The open day, taking place between 11am and 3pm at Shire Farm in Uppingham Road, Rockingham, will give visitors the opportunity to get up close and personal with the beautiful shire horses, including the opportunity to watch live demonstrations.

There will be something for everyone at the family friendly event, including a hog roast, refreshments, a bouncy castle and stalls including Joules seconds.

There will also be fun donkey rides for the children to enjoy throughout the day.

Entry to the event is free for children under 12-years-old and for those who are members of the Shire Horse Society. For non-members entry is £5 for adults. Discounted tickets if purchased in advance.

To purchase tickets now please telephone 01536 771611 or visit the website at www.shire-horse.co.uk

Free parking will be available at the event. All of the funds raised at the event will go towards the Shire Horse Society Charity.

The Shire Horse Society is dedicated to the protection and promotion of the shire horse. Since 1878 the Shire Horse Society has been working to protect the breed, that was then known as the Old English Breed of Cart Horse.
