A brand-new play about the creation of Frankenstein will premiere at Mama Liz’s Voodoo Lounge in Stamford next week, as a post Halloween treat for those who love all things gothic.
Local playwright and artistic director of new theatre company Golden Fire Theatre, Beckis Cooper, will direct her new play on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, next week.
Set in Geneva in 1816. a young Mary Shelley is suffering from a severe case of writer’s block.
On a mad artistic tour with her lover, her step-sister and Lord Byron, she is challenged to write a ghost story that will ‘curdle the blood and quicken the beatings of the heart’.
Can she come up with a good enough monster ?
