Travel back in time and re-live the spirit of the 60s at this year’s Castle Bytham Midsummer Music Festival - a jam packed weekend of live music and entertainment in the heart of the village.
Following the success of 2014, Bythams Music is teaming up again with the Castle Bytham Fair Committee to put on another musical feast for this year’s festival.
To kick off the festival weekend which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, June 20 and 21, will be a line up of brilliant local bands who will play on the Meadow Stage at St Martins Field on Saturday.
From 3pm to 9pm, a range of talented artists will take to the stage to entertain the crowds including Stamford-based bands, Fully Loaded and Bianca & the TopCats, along with headline act The Blues Volcano, who draw their inspiration from the 60s and 70s blues era.
On the Sunday, there will be a full programme of entertainment on two stages, including the Main Stage in St Martins Field which will feature a range of performances ranging from Rutland Big Band to The Tin Pigeons. On the second stage at Castle Inn, will be a showcase for performers from Stamford Arts Centre Amplified from 1pm, followed by Lil’ Ian Goodsman and Lexie Green Band.
But the music is not all what is going on over the weekend, as on the Sunday, the streets of Castle Bytham will be thronging to the beats of the 60s as the main street fair kicks off with an array of attractions.
On show will be an array of market stalls, a dog show, beer festival, car rally, the ‘world famous’ Castle Bytham duck race, food outlets, raffle, dancing and fairground rides. Something for all the family, with many getting in the groove by donning their flares, loons and mini-skirts a plenty.
Admission for the whole weekend of events is free to all, along with free parking.
Saturday’s events will run from 3pm to 10.30pm and Sunday 10.30am to 5pm. For more information and for a full line up of all the acts that are set to perform across the weekend please visit the events website at www.midsummerfair.co.uk or you can email email@example.com for more information.
