A Rutland-based rock guitarist is preparing to thrill a festival audience ahead of one of the heaviest events of the music calendar.

Jim Burkitt, from Preston, will join his bandmates in Knock Out Kaine at Bloodstock in Catton Park, Derbyshire, from August 6 to 9.

Knock out Kaine, who recently released their second album Rise Of The Electric Jester, will play the Jägermeister stage on Saturday, August 8, at 5.20pm.

Lead guitarist Jim is looking forward to playing with his Lincoln band mates at this festival of metal mayhem.

He said: “It’s a huge boost for the band to be playing Bloodstock.

“Some of my all-time heroes have played on the Jägermeister stage so we will be following in the footsteps of some all-time greats.”

Knock out Kaine fans can also buy a piece of the band’s history with the launch of their World Pledge Music campaign. It’s designed to help raise funds to take them rocking around the world. Fans can buy a private gig, a guitar signed by rock legends Judas Priest and other unique memorabilia.
