The Wildcats Theatre School will be following the Yellow Brick Road all the way to Peterborough’s Key Theatre later this month.

The children aged 6 to 16 are busy preparing for a performance of the RSC version of ‘Wizard of Oz’ at the Key Theatre this March.

Little Dorothy Gale of Kansas, like so many girls her age, dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day a twister hits her farm and carries her away over the rainbow to another world.

Join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion and Toto as they travel the universe of Dorothy’s imagination.

The performers, who are all part of the “West End Wildcats” troupe, have been rehearsing for a number of months for the show.

Caz Dolby, of Wildcats, said: “Our West End Wildcats have performed in some of
the country’s top theatres including the Royal Albert Hall, Her Majesty’s and the O2.

“ The challenge of preparing a full scale performance has been an exciting one and its lovely to see so many smiling faces at rehearsals.

“Children learn so much from these events and gain valuable skills in not only musical theatre but confidence and self esteem.

“The performances showcase some incredible local talent from across the school.”

The Wizard of Oz is being performed at the Key Theatre on Friday, March 18, 7pm; Saturday, March 19, 2.30pm and 7pm; and Sunday, March 20 at 3pm.
