Activities have been added up to the line-up of a sporting extravaganza set to hit the town and raise thousands of pounds for charity.
BGL SportBash 2015 will take place at Stamford School on July 23 and 24.
The event now in its fourth year is organised by former England bowler and current Stamford Endowed Schools coach Dean Headley. Last year the event raised £30,000 and this year, the proceeds will go to support the Matt Hampson Foundation, Seb Goold Trust, PCA Benevolent Fund and Help for Heroes.
Dean already has a host of stars lined up for the two days of cricket games but has now added more activities to ensure it’s a fun-filled event.
During the interval of the 20/20 cricket matches on both days, aerial displays will descend onto the pitch.
The UK Parachuting display team, based at Sibson Airfield, is one of the most experienced display teams in the country with a combined total of 30,000 jumps.
The team will also be encouraging members of the crowd to sign up for a tandem skydive for the charities supported on the day.
By contrast on the ground, Bubble Football East Midlands will be letting people try out the action packed Zorb football. Games will run every 15 minutes between 2pm and 6pm each day.
Dean said: “Getting more activities and displays like this will really make the event suitable for lots more people than cricket fans.
“What a treat for the crowd to see the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypasts and the UK Parachuting team.”
Visit www.BGLsportbash.co.uk to find out more and to buy tickets. Entry to both days will be just £17.50 for adults. Tickets start at £7.50.
