Drivers won’t have any trouble seeing children and staff from St Augustine’s Primary School in Stamford as they go out and about on school trips – thanks to Taylor Wimpey.

That’s because the housebuilder, which is currently building new homes at Lamberts Place, off Empingham Road, has donated 160 high-visibility reflective vests to the primary school.

Pupils enjoy excursions to various locations within walking distance of the school in Kesteven Road – including Stamford Library, Stamford Leisure Centre swimming pool and St Mary’s and St Augustine’s Church – and will now be able to wear the vests during their journeys.

Head of school Karen Crawford says: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this donation from Taylor Wimpey, which means we can now equip each of our children and staff with a high-visibility vest for future school excursions and trips into the local community.

“It’s crucial to teach children about the importance of road safety from a young age, and these vests will go a long way to reminding our pupils about what they’ve learned, as well as making them more visible to drivers.”

Sales manager for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands Nick Upex said: “We hope that our donation will help to keep the children safe during their school trips in and around Stamford.”

Lamberts Place is a collection of three, four and five-bedroom properties.
