FLORAL tributes have been left outside the Oakham flat where Neil Corby, 42, was found dead last week.

Police were called to Gaol Street on Thursday morning where they found Mr Corby’s body.

Two men appeared at Loughborough Magistrates Court on Saturday accused of his murder on Wednesday, September 19.

Adam Barker, 33, of Willoughby Gardens, Oakham, and Jamie North, 33, of Glen Drive, Oakham, were remanded in custody. No pleas were entered.

North is also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm to another man.

Barker is also charged with unlawful wounding causing grievous bodily harm to another man.

Magistrates will send the case to Leicester Crown Court today (Monday).

Two other men arrested in connection with the murder, aged 26 and 47, were released without charge on Friday evening.

Police had been called to the flat at about 7.30am on Thursday where they made the discovery.

Gaol Street was cordoned off until 2.30pm while officers carried out inquiries.

In a statement, Mr Corby’s family said: “On behalf of Neil’s family we would like to thank our friends and family for their support. We wish to be left alone to grieve in private.”
