A sales manager has helped a businessman reduce his carbon footprint with a solar deal.
Green Energy Commercial area sales manager Mel Dixon, 66, of Preston, offered a money saving deal to Midlands Ventilation Supplies, based in Leicester, and hopes to help more businesses in the future.
As part of the deal, Ken Utting who runs the firm has installed a 200 panel solar array on the roof of his premises, which will save more than £100,000 in electricity bills over the next 25 years.
Mel said: “It was tremendous being able to help Ken Utting make a massive saving for his company in Leicester as I’ve known him for years now and it’s great to be able to improve the profitablity of businesses whilst also reducing their carbon footprint.
“I’ve been in renewable for six years and the Green Energy Commercial Power Purchase Agreements are a win-win for any business.
“They are also proving massively popular with sports clubs as well as small businesses. They basically make an immediate impact making savings and freeing up funds for clubs and companies to spend on other essentials.”
Ken has also fitted his 10,000 square metre premises out with energy saving lights and was given an EEC grant for his lighting and then secured the massive free-fit solar system and reduced rate electricity via a Power Purchase Agreement signed with Cheshire-based Green Energy Commercial.
Ken said: ‘Working with Green Energy Commercial has been fantastic for us. Brownfield sites are where the energy is being consumed, so to generate it at source has to be the way forward for the country.”
