High Sheriff gardens with 'Bloomers'

Rutland High Sheriff Sue Jarron thanked a group of Oakham in Bloom volunteers on Sunday for their hard work before doing some gardening herself.

After posing for a photograph with the group of volunteers, Sue changed into her gardening clothes and gave two hours of her time assisting to remove winter bedding.

"I enjoyed every minute, please let me know when I can help out again," Sue told the group.

The volunteers were getting ready for the "Big Plant Day", an event which takes place on Sunday.

Oakham in Bloom's removal of plants took place throughout the town and started at 9.30am at the rear of the library in preparation for the planting.

This Sunday hundreds of plants will be delivered to the rear of the library at 9.30am where volunteers will meet.

Everyone is invited to take part in helping plant them.
