Motorcyclist dies after his bike leaves the A606 Oakham Road near Somerby

A motorcyclist was killed when his bike left the A606 Oakham Road near Somerby yesterday afternoon (Sunday, November 1).

The rider, who was on a black Ducati, had been heading towards Burton Lazars when the collision happened. No other vehicles were involved.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. At the time of going to press police hadn’t named him.

A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: “We’d like to speak to anyone who saw the collision at around 5pm yesterday (Sunday) or may have seen the motorbike being ridden beforehand.”

Anyone with any information should call Dc 4406 Kath Orr on 101, quoting incident 547 of November 1.
