The refurbished Co-operative in Burley Road, Oakham, reopened on Friday.

The store has been given a makeover to provide its members and customers with an improved shopping experience.

The transformation sees the introduction of a brighter store with an enhanced range of chilled beers and wines and a wider selection of products including, a fish counter, Pick of the crop, local produce and the introduction of fashion concession, M&Co.

The improved food store has created 14 new jobs.

Store manager Jayne Walton said: “This is a very exciting time for everyone in the team.

“The store looks fantastic and we’ve had a great food store re-launch, with lots of positive comments made by customers.”
