Two-car collision in icy conditions at East Norton




Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle collision at East Norton this morning (Friday).

The collision, involving a saloon car and a van, happened just after 7.30am on the A47 Uppingham Road.

Several fire crews were called, alongside a police vehicle and ambulance crew.

Firefighters freed two people trapped in one vehicle and made the area safe. Four casualties were taken to hospital for treatment.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue said the roads in that area were icy ths morning and urged other motorists to drive carefully in icy conditions.
