Market Overton Bowls Club were delighted to welcome a group of pupils from Exton and Greetham School on Wednesday 21st May.
They were introduced to the sport by Club Captain Betty Bell and then given the opportunity to practice on the green with the help of club members.
There were several with undoubtedly natural talent for the game.
They proved too that this is not a sport just for the elderly and skill is required.
A small competition was held on a knock out basis and the final winner was Bobby-Jay Duell, aged 10 and runner up Isobel Gedge-Little aged 9 who are seen being presented with small trophies by Club President Mal Croson.
After a delicious tea provided by Betty the group returned to school armed with goody bags and lots of enthusiasm.
The club would be happy to provide this insight into the sport to any other school on application to the Secretary, Annette Oliver by e-mail email@example.com
