Prepare to be spooked as tickets go on sale for popular behind-the-scenes torch lit tours unearthing the secret history of England’s greatest Elizabethan house.
Burghley’s Spooky Tours return from Monday, October 19 to Saturday, October 31, offering a chance to journey by flickering torchlight into creepy cellars, forbidding outbuildings and centuries old cloisters.
Often an early sell-out in previous years, the special tours take visitors around some of the less visited areas of Burghley, on the edge of the Georgian stone town of Stamford.
Led by local ghostly expert Martin Tempest, the tours will reveal Burghley’s spooky stories across the centuries.
Tours take place at 6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm and 9.30pm daily (excluding Sundays) and are designed to be scary, but fun – although not recommended for children under 11, Burghley leave it up to parents to decide!
Tickets are £15 each, to book please visit the website at www.burghley.co.uk.
Martin Tempest will also be holding ghost walks as part of Stamford Arts Centre’s Halloween Specials.
There’ll be plenty of ghoulish characters waiting to pounce and make you jump on what will be a fun walk around the town.
Ghost walks will take place on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31 at 6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm and 9.30pm.
Tickets are £6, book now at www.stamfordartscentre.com.
